I have been to many zoos and this is by far the worse I have been too. Some parts which have been invested in are nice but some areas are very run down. The larger animals such as lion, jaguar etc were in smaller enclosures than the alpacas! I was particularly concerned about the hippo enclosure which had no water. I agree with other comments .. I left feeling guilty I had funded this. If proper investment was made this would be a lovely zoo. Even the vegetables that were thrown in looked rotten.

Most animals were locked in their cages, with no other viewing gallery to see them. So most of the time we were looking at empty enclosures.

Plenty for the kids to do though, in terms of play grounds etc.

We visited in February which was not the ideal time to visit any zoo. A lot of the animals like the big cats, hyenas and bears were either asleep or in indoor enclosures. There were a few animals like the ostriches, kangaroos and emus that were in inside enclosures and you could only see them in the distance. However this was likely to do with the weather and the season; and it did not detract from our trip as we got to see nearly all of the other animals on the map.

There was a lot of animals we hadn't seen before in any zoo, such as the pygmy hippo, bison and camels. This was a pleasant surprise as we expected the zoo to have only the regular animals.

The zoo is very big and is quite the walk with a lot of inclines so certainly be wary of that! Some of the trails were a little difficult to traverse, especially downhill.

You could get very close to the animals especially if they were in their indoor enclosures which made for a unique experience. The terrarium, exotarium and primate house are examples of this experience, as you are very close to the animals.

It's certainly easy to spend a lot of the day here as we spent around 3 hours looking and walking around.

I would highly recommend if you have a day free in Bratislava. It's very time consuming though if you are doing a day trip from Vienna like we did.

Disappointed!Adults 10e for entry, disabled for 7eur,kids till 3yrs for free. Nearly nothing to see, have been there today at around 3pm. Most of the animals locked inside or hidden, they should do some windows so you can see them even if they are in. My child nearly 3yrs was asking to go home, she was so bored. Best attraction was donkey.

Enclosures for the animals are small, not in good condition some of them totally broken. Animals look very unhappy and sad. Its broke my heart to visit this zoo and see the animals stuck in such small cages and so sad. Some parts of sidewalk are unkeep and must be carefully to use it. The toilets are unclean, missing soap and paper. Never visit again. If you like to visit ZOO I don`t recommend this one.

Not good unfortunately. The enclosures for the animals are small and a lot of them look very unhappy, particularly the bear. Broke my heart to visit this zoo and see the animals stuck in such small cages and so sad. The majority of the toilets are portaloos and the actual toilets are quite unclean. Would not visit again.

Zoo is on the west side of the Bratislava city with free parking on the Sun and easily spotted.
Entrance is 7 EUR for adults and 5 EUR for child and seniors.
A lot of animals and a great fun for the whole family for the whole day.
Unfortunately the Dino park was closed in late May 2022.
If you want map you have to pay 0.5 EUR, but you don't need it because there are quite a lot of big maps on every corner.
Food stands were closed during our visit. But you can bring your own food and drinks. A lot of souvenir machines along the path.
Great fun for sure!

I have been going to this zoo for about 17 years and i really enjoy going there and seeing all the animals however we came august 2021 and my family and I where really excited to go to the Dino park as we do every time we visit the zoo. we walked up to the Dino park to find that it has closed down! None of the staff told us and it’s still on all the maps in the zoo. My little brother was so upset all day and was sobbing when he saw it was shut. It does mention it on the website however we didn’t check because of course we didn’t think it would be closed down and Someone in reception should have told us anyway! This is the worst decision the zoo has ever made as a majority of the people who visit the zoo only really go for the Dino park. So so disappointed!!

Needed a break during our road trip so decided to stop at the DinoPark, which is within the zoo and covered by the same entrance fee.

Dino Park was pretty good if, like us, you have a 4-year-old who knows his parasaurolophuses from his pachycephalosauruses. Lots of different life-size model dinosaurs, some of them animated, although the mosquitos were very real and made us reluctant to explore the areas off the main path.

Unfortunately the zoo part also felt like a trip back in time, where most of the animals would arguably have been better off going extinct. Small dirty enclosures and animals looking a bit worse for wear. Perhaps we’d been spoilt by visits to Berlin Zoo and UK safari parks, but it would have been better if we could have just visited the dinopark section on its own. Very cheap and killed a couple of hours, but draining on the soul!

My husband and I weren't entirely sure what to expect having read the mixed reviews and were very pleasantly surprised. We caught the 30 bus very easily from the bus station below the UFO bridge which cost us only 0.35 euro each way! The zoo was clean and tidy ard we spent a lovely 2 1/2 hours walking around the very scenic wooded areas. There was a great range of animals to see, including my favourite red pandas. It's a great way to spend half a day in the fresh air with exercise added.
Highly recommended.
