This was my first time in Gyor and i really enjoyed it, the buildings are really amazing and you feel like traveling back in time. We went during the xmas market which was a nice experience but gets really crowded after dark.

Most of Gyor's buildings which are really not to be missed are all around Szechenyi Square. The Esterhazy Palace, House with the Iron Stock, the Abbot's House, the Benedictine Church, & the old City Hall. So many in one place.

I was really surprised at how lovely the old town is. Cobbled streets, pedestrianised areas, some really beautiful old buildings and especially great to wander around at night when it is lit up.

This has a really great atmosphere with bars and eateries all around the main square. I am pleased to say there weren’t any street hustlers or beggars too! Good music as well, with live bands during summer. Careful where you stay! Places can be noisy

Györ is just a bit over an hour away from Budapest by train (or car). It’s a beautiful city that can be easily explored within a few hours. It’s well renovated and invites visitors with many cafés and restaurants.
