As of December 2018 and for at least the next year, the building inside and out is undergoing renovation so 2500F to enter for a short tour that, whilst showing part of the grandeur of the building, does not include the actual theatre. And of...More

This opera house, which was initially opened in 1884, is a majestic building on the outside whilst the interiors are richly and ornately decorated. Unfortunately we were unable to visit the main auditorium as it was being renovated but the entry ticket prices were adjusted...More

Lovely old opera house - lots of history and rooms to see. Great history. Really a wonderful tour for opera lovers who can't make a performance or those architectural history buffs.

Having been to the opera on a previous visit and had a fantastic time, I booked what I thought was box for a special occasion with my parents. We noticed the opera was unfortunately covered over for reservations when we arrived but as all the...More

Went on a tour round the building and was blown away by its beauty. Although the auditorium is still under renovation, the rest of the building did not let down. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered any questions. As compensation for not being...More

Due to renovations, it is not possible to see the auditorium itself at the moment (and these will be going on until 2020 I think they said). What you can see is beautiful and as a sweetener they put on a short(10 minute) opera performance...More

Walked along Andrassy Street to see the Opera House but it is completely under construction and all covered up so you can't see it.

This beautiful building is still being renovated, so the auditorium is inaccessible which is why it doesn't get 5 stars, but don't let that put you off going to see the rest. A lot of effort and love has gone into the renovation. Tours are...More

It is only possible to walk around the bottom floor without the tour. Don't recall how much we paid but felt it was reasonable.
