if you get a chance see it in the daytime when the sun shines on the room - which has 3 steeples - and if available you can attend a concert there, although we found it overpriced compared to other concerts we attended.

If you have to choose and you like Religious Architecture, choose this. If you can avoid the choice, do it. The Church is impressive -more than the Cathedral, very baroque for some tastes- but both share something: Both are placed in parts of the city...More

We saw the church as part of a tour of Castle Hill and fisherman's bastion. The church is very beautiful-the inside and out. Our guide shared info about the design and history. The tile roof is gorgeous.

This is a main symbol of the city (St.Istvan). You will find the beauty of this church in its architecture. Free entrance. Do not miss to enter this place.

This is a very beautiful church and the view from the bell tower is fantastic. The tiled roof is gorgeous and very unusual. Ask about the black tower, it's an interesting story and the staff will be glad to tell you all about it.

We climbed to the top and the view was incredible. However, the stairs are pretty steep, plentiful, and there is no handrail. Going down is actually a lot harder than going up! But the view was beautiful and well worth it!

I see from current reviews that Matthias gets horribly crowded but back in May it was serene. Although the interior doesn't live up to the wonderful exterior, it is well worth visiting and the exhibition of Sisi and Leopold, who were married in this church,...More

Beautiful and peaceful church! We visited with a chorus which sang there, and it was amazing. The art and architecture are beautiful, and entry is free! They also had baskets with Bible verses printed on slips of paper - the idea being you take one...More
