Visit Good Place set me up with six other bikers who all knew each other so I was basically by myself for the whole tour. A solo traveler shouldn't be booked to travel with an already established group of travelers. They didn't want to do guided tours so I didn't get to do any. They wanted to go out to drink at night and I don't drink so I spent my evenings alone outside of having dinner with them. Even when biking, they didn't follow simple safety measures so I had to stay way at the back most of the way to avoid being injured. As a minority, my choices never made it to the top of the list, the group prevailed.
There wasn't much to see on this Istria tour and some of the hotels were in such remote areas, all there was to see/do was walk around. No museum, church, art gallery, nothing to see or do.

As much as good comments make us happy, an opinion like yours makes us a little sad. We are sorry that you did not get along well with the other guests and that the tour did not meet your expectations.
People are different and so are our ways of spending free time - for some, accommodation in the middle of nowhere is an opportunity to relax, while others would rather go to a museum, church, or gallery. We understand that.
We also talked to your guide on this tour because we want everyone - especially us - to learn something from this case. You can believe us, we want the guests to end the tour satisfied and to come back again.
The problem would have been smaller or at least solved more quickly if you had clearly expressed your wishes during the tour. We know our guides very well and we trust them that they want to at least try to meet everyone's wishes (as much it is possible during the tour – obviously we can’t change the accommodation for a day ahead).
The only thing we cannot accept is criticism about safety on the tour. The guide, as far as we checked, adjusted the pace to the slowest in the group and stayed behind to make you feel better and safer on most of the climbs and descents.

Family members and I have completed three self-guided Visit GoodPlace tours: Green Gourmet, Alps to Adriatic, and custom Alps to Adriatic and Istrian Peninsula. Our experiences on all three trips were wonderful.
Visit GoodPlace is simply one of the best service organizations that we have ever encountered. In our experience, they design and execute their tours perfectly.
The cycling routes are created with meticulous care and maximize the beauty of Slovenia and Istria. In three trips covering hundreds of kilometers of riding, we were constantly reminded how much research goes into creating the best possible routes. The digital maps are constructed with great attention to detail.
The accommodations that Visit GoodPlace books are also special. We invariably would end our days staying in beautiful, small boutique hotels that offered exceptional services, equaled by exceptionally welcoming hosts. We have had stays at accommodations that we will never forget.
Great food is part of the cultures in Slovenia and Istria. Visit GoodPlace provides recommendations to restaurants that have served us meals that are so memorable.
Behind the scenes, Visit GoodPlace delivers on the logistics behind self-guided tours expertly. The trip materials and briefings were personalized and comprehensive. The bikes that we rented were always in excellent shape. Luggage bags always get to the next destinations. Transfers to and from the start and end of the tours are excellent. The high quality of the behind-the-scenes logistics is a testament to a culture committed to service excellence.
We have, and do, highly recommend Visit GoodPlace and Slovenia to our family and friends. And those who have completed tours feel the same way we do.

Other reviewers have already commented on the quality of the bikes, bike panniers and professionalism/friendliness of staff - we concur wholeheartedly. We also want to comment on the food which was outstanding! While none of the restaurants had formal Michelin star ratings, some definitely were worthy of that designation. We were blown away by the gastronomy. In addition and in contrast to other bike tours we've been part of, the cultural experiences also added so much to our experience - the prosciutto, cheese and wine tastings, stone carver, Lipizzan horses and underground cave tour were all wonderful. The accommodations were also great and we appreciated Visit Good Places' efforts to support smaller or even family run establishments that led to more personal and attentive service. Our guide Ana, was informative, kind and so adept at blending our group of cyclists into a cycling family. Without question, this is the best guided bike tour that we've had the pleasure of experiencing (at a comparable cost to the others). Thank you!

We would highly recommend Visit Good Place. Every aspect of our self guided tour was impeccable. Transfers, hotels , itinerary, our e-bikes. What a great way to explore beautiful Slovenia which surpassed all our expectations. We will definitely return!

We completed the Alps to Adriatic 7-day tour. Everything was great: The bicycles were in great condition and nearly new; they included a rear bag that was sturdy, convenient, and held everything we needed for the day; the accommodations were all very good and much nicer than we expected; the folks at Visit Good Place were all super nice and extremely responsive; our luggage was always at the next hotel when we arrived. There were no hiccups, period. We are road-bike cyclists, and I wasn't expecting mountain bikes, but mountain bikes are best given the varied road surfaces and sometimes steep hills. We are a family of cyclists, we included 3 ebikes and I rode a regular bike. I think the tour is great with either option, though, I was glad to reach the top of the highest point on Day 2, the day with the most climbing. But I attribute that to walking up the stairs to Bled Castle the night of Day 1. I really can't find anything negative to say, and everything else about the trip was very positive. I would do any of their other tours without hesitation.

Everything worked out wonderfully well. Zvia was excellent-her positive attitude and patience with all of our questions was much appreciated….and the trip tour, lodging, food and entire experience was perfect. I would not want to change a thing about it.

A fantastic 4 day trip taylored specifically to our needs. Everything was perfect starting with the preparation of the tour to the excellent experience in Slovenia. A very good selection and mix of tracks, accurate GPX tracks, very good bikes, very nice hotels and restaurants. And above all, the friendliness, competence and professionalism of the staff at VisitGoodPlace. I (we) recommend !

We did a fantastic tailor made tour to ride the best single trails Slovenia has to offer and a day at Petzen bike park. Excellent support throughout with a highly skilled and knowledgeable guide.

From start to finish the organisation of visit good places was seamless. The bikes were brand new and we were provided with a water bottle and buff- both of which came in very handy. The maps each day were accurate and took us down some nice routes off the beaten track. The route takes you through so many different landscapes making each day different and incredible. The accommodation was always high quality and the dinner recommendations for each night were brilliant.
We stayed an extra night at lake Bohinj which we would recommend as there are great hiking routes to mount Vogel from the gondola and alps gives you time to get out on a paddleboard and swim in the lake.
Matij even added in an extra route to Trieste for us one day during the tour and was on WhatsApp for any queries we had.
The transfers to and from were highly efficient and lovely staff who are enthusiastic and love their job.
We had a great tour and have since recommended the company to family and friends and hope to back for a different route ourselves. Thank you.

Amazing company with incredible attention to detail. Will use them again with no hesitation.
We did a self guided tour from Muggia Italy, through Slovenia and Croatia and ended Pula Croatia.
The bikes were top of the line and they did a great job making sure all the bikes were sized correctly for each of us as well as making sure we had spare tubes and multitools along with contact numbers in case we ran into a major issue, Their mobile route map also called out all the bike shops along the route in case we needed that. We had one flat but all the tools needed to change it. Bikes were great. They arrived on time and were super pleasant.
The routes were easy to follow accurate and kept us off roads for the most part. We mostly followed old railroad lines which a blast and the views were outstanding.
Our luggage was at each hotel when we arrived and their restaurant recommendations were spot on.
Before the trip we did a zoom call and went over the daily routes and what to expect along with some information about each city.
Our ride back to Trieste was on time and so much fun to talk to on the driver. He had the bikes loaded ahead of our scheduled time and were ready to go.
We have done other bike tours and Visit Good Place is beyond dialed in.
