So I visited with friends , the rudest , unfriendliest most ignorant race of people you could find anywhere . Tried asking for help when we got lost , people either walked away or said No English and left us there .
Overcrowded streets, restaurants , sheer rudeness everywhere and a breathtaking hostility towards foreign visitors . Poles would do well to remember they are themselves living and working in other European countries like UK and Ireland and are made most welcome, unlike visitors to their country .
Couldn’t wait to get out of it, will never return ,

Very interesting history museum

This museum traces the history of Wroclaw from the tenth century forward. Lots of historical items including furniture. Good audio guide and plenty of English.

Very Interesting but Somewhat Confusing

Visited this museum on our last day in Wrocław and it was very interesting finding out about the history of Poland. Most non-Poles only know of 20th century Polish history...but this museum takes you back to the iron age, bronze age and before. Very fascinating. The military history bit is fascinating too and is understandable why Polish people should be so proud of their heritage...there are some very interesting and heart breaking stories of their constant battles to remain Polish. However, I just have one problem with the museum...one had no idea where to go, it is a huge building complex but no signage...they really need a little booklet or just some signs with arrows pointing the way. We ended up in an art class or something by accident. Also...why can't I wear my coat in the armoury 🤔 The only thing that are not secured are the svalbards and nobody is going to conceal a 14 foot spear under their jackets. Very strange.

But...all-in-all a good visit

Fantastic- but need better directions.

This was a great museum and was well worth a visit- it had lots of different things from the history of Wroclaw from 900 to the present day. It was laid out chronologically, but it was not clear which way you should walk around it so I ended up doing things in a weird order.

Our Polish family took us as there was an exhibition by Marc Chagall. We all appreciated it. Well worth visiting.

Much more interesting than I anticipated

While I think the Panorama Raclawicka is Wroclaw's "must-do" visit this was certainly much more interesting than I anticipated.

This old palace wasn't open on Mondays, but was able to spare some time before my train. As I'm not much of an art buff I skipped through that wing in about 25 minutes, but spent at least twice as long covering the 1000 years of history, which includes WWII and the Cold Ware era. Wish that I hadn't been so constrained for time, as I would have like to have spent much longer. I didn't have an audio guide, as I don't do well with them, but 95% of the exhibits where documented in English as well as Polish. Also some German text available.

A must see on many levels
Jul 2015
This is one of the best museums I've ever visited. They have audio tours available in Polish, German and English (highly recommended) that take you through room by room. Because they are activated when you go to the next room, you can spend as much time in each area as you wish. There is 1,000 years of history here, starting with the founding of the city and bringing you up to modern times. Some of the displays are a bit stuffy, but not much you can do with the older items. As you pass into the 20th century, the museum gets much more interesting, showing you what a residence would look like for example. They also don't shy away from the Nazi occupation or any of the bad things that happened over the years. But you can feel the joy and openness that came with the Solidarity movement and reclaiming Poland from the soviets.
