Amazing what inventors did many years ago. Be sure to read the description panels underneath. The little model along the sidewalk was interesting also.

A very old shipping crane indeed. Would not structure a visit around it but we did walk past and under it several times a day. Interesting to behold and see.

This is probably the most iconic building in Gdansk. A landmark on the riverbank of the oldtown. Interresting history one of the local guides will inform you about in great detail

It is an impressive structure, but in order to fully appreciate it you have to know what it was. The crane was the biggest crane in the world in the 15th. century that was used to load and unload ships.

This ancient structure is breathtaking to see. The history of it is fascinating and you can still see all the internal mechanisms

This is really worthwhile and I would suggest that you read up about its history before going to see it.

An interesting system of heaving heavy loads to and from the ships. Scale models made it understandable.

Walking down the river you'll pass this crane, you can walk under its gate. Historical piece of engineering opposite the maritime museum on the other side of the river.

Sorry if my answer comes too late. As a visitor to Gdansk I imagine you'll be staying in the old town. The crane is located next to one of the old city gates on the riverside so it's very easy to reach on foot. You may be... More

Turn your back to the Crane and take a selfie with the Crane. It is absolutely gorgeous with night lights.
