Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.

    Unforgettable Experience
The St. Vitus Cathedral really leaves an astonishing feeling when you enter the church. As the largest and most important church in Prague it's no doubt that the experience we had there could never be forgotten anytime soon. My fiancé already told me we should visit Prague again next year!

    Beautiful site, multiple tickets required
Cathedral was beautiful however you will need to purchase several different tickets in order to view all the sites. The cathedral tower for example is not included with the cathedral entrance ticket. We also were unable to view the crypt with the royals as we were told that had to be scheduled in advance.

    Gothic Glory
One of the lovelier gothic cathedrals we have visited. Certainly others are grander in size, but the stained glass windows rival and exceed in beauty any we've seen. Mucha window was spectacular!

    Beautiful
Beautiful piece of architectural work. It is a must to get inside even is too crowded. But the beauty of the church worth a little bit more admiration. For us St Vitus Cathedral was the preferred one from entire Prague Castle complex.

    Awesome, in the real sense
An amazing building, although odd, all kinds of styles and perspectives smushed together in one church. Great to see just for that, but it's also beautiful. If you have any sensitivity to must and mildew bring a mask - extreme histamine warning!

Beautiful gothic church towering over the city
If you’ve been to Prague, then you’ve absolutely seen this. Towering over everything else and sitting up on the castle hill, this is the most prominent and noticeable point in the city. You can’t help but look at it and be drawn to the unique beauty of it from all angles. Up close, you can see why it looks so big up on the hill.....because it is. Make sure to walk around the church and get if from all angles to see the intricate work. On the inside, it is very striking. Like so many gothic churches in Europe, it’s a bit dark inside but here as well, you must take some time to look at it from all the angles to really catch how amazing it is.

A main highlight of any trip
What an amazing church. There is so much to see inside and outside of this beautiful and historic building. Our guide was only able to scratch the surface of the church in our tour, so I recommend the audio tour if you wanted to really spend your time going through the church. There are many different little elements and uniqueness to the church that make it a place you could spend hours in.

One of the best travel experiences of my life!
The Vitus Cathedral is one of, if not the most, beautiful buildings I have had the privilege of looking at. I remember waking up early, entering the castle, and sitting at a park bench to simply admire the intricate architecture. The inside is gorgeous; there are these world-class murals, vibrant with colour, I could stare at for hours. The building is also the highlight of a myriad of views outside of the castle. It is just astonishingly gorgeous.

    Utter magnificence.
Utterly magnificent. The Baroque magnificence of this Gothic cathedral has to be seen to be believed. It is beautiful beyond comprehension. Don't miss the St Wenceslas chapel and the magnificent organ. The ticket to the cathedral is covered in the basic circuit ticket and you can also see the South Tower but if you have to enter the South Tower or go up the tower you have to buy a separate ticket.

    Majestic
This is easily the most beautiful cathedral I have ever seen. We actually took the guided tour, but you could easily stay for hours looking at everything. The stained glass windows, the organ, and everything is just so amazing. This is definitely a must see if you are in Prague.

Prague Cathedral, the biggest and most significant church in the nation, is devoted to St. Vitus and is a notable example of Gothic architecture. It is entirely contained within the grounds of Prague Castle. Numerous artworks, exquisitely adorned side chapels, and the tombs of Holy Roman Emperors and Bohemian kings can be found inside. It really is magnificent.

Very beautiful cathedral within the Prague castle premises. Building began in mid 14 th century which took almost 600 years to complete as construction halted many times in between. Among other great treasures, it houses the Crown Jewels.

Visited this beautiful cathedral on our 4 hour guided walking tour of Prague. We saw the exterior on this tour, and we went back the next day on our own and visited inside. Absolutely beautiful church.

Prague Cathedral dedicated to St Vitus is a prominent example of Gothic architecture and is the largest and most important church in the country. It is located completely within the Prague Castle complex. Inside you will find many works of art, beautifully decorated side chapels and tombs of Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors. It is truly stunning.

Stands adjacent to Prague Castle. Need to buy a combined ticket that lets you into the castle and cathedral. Very impressive stained-glass windows. Worth a walk around inside as some interesting features to see.

St. Vitamins a beautiful gothic cathedral within the Prague castle complex. The highlight for me was the large, beautiful silver sculpture near the altar. This cathedral was free with the castle admission fee.

It’s certainly tricky to judge, having visited some of undoubtedly the world’s most iconic and gorgeous cathedrals and religious buildings in Rome, but St. Vitus ranks high on my list of the most stunning interiors of any cathedral I’ve seen. A few notable areas were roped off during my visit, but it hardly made an impact on my experience. It is definitely a shame there’s an admission fee…but as a wheelchair user, I couldn’t help but notice the ticket office (where presumably visitors must buy their tickets to any of the sites in the castle) had several steps leading up to it. So I drove up to the man working the entrance to the cathedral and told him I couldn’t buy a ticket because of the stairs—and he just let me in for free. Essentially free entry for disabled folks?
