As a photographer, I love the exterior views of this castle, so it didn't matter too much that we couldn't view the interior due to a private function that day.

We didn't go in to tour the castle, but enjoyed the view from the outside. It sits in a very picturesque Glen.

A well preserved and presented castle. Full of history of both the castle and the Menzies clan worldwide. Well worth the visit.

The castle is large (3 stories), beautifully furnished, and is associated with a lot of history. Guides are excellent. Grounds are well worth visiting, as well. If you can only visit one Scottish castle, I suggest this one. To enjoy both the house and grounds,...More

The amazing thing about visiting this castle is the fact it is NOT the finished article. The rooms are honestly presented and the "Z" plan aspect clear to see. So much has been accomplished by the trust to make it an interesting experience. It was...More

A castle with interesting history partially restored which easily led to imaginings of skirmishes and uprising. There are lots of floors (accessed by lots of steps) with various artefacts, some of which can be difficult to see in the darker rooms. Plenty to see and...More

Although a small castle, the trust have made a good job of advising of the family history and how the castle has changed over the years. A couple of bits have been renovated or upgraded within due to dry rot over the last few years...More
