Couldn't visit the castle as our 6 year old was too young to be allowed inside. Probably because of the ramparts and lack of supervision (and railings!). No matter - you can just walk down to the stone grain sheds, which are behind the castle....More

We stopped at Lindoso to see the granaries but also walked up to the castle and around the walls. There's a good view of the granaries from the wall.

It’s an interesting castle if only because it epitomises the Portuguese attitude towards health and safety. Great fun.

Portugal does a fine line in ruined castles and restored palaces. The small castle at Lindoso is no exception, but it's in better shape than many and is well maintained. There's also an interesting exhibit about the history of human settlement in the area (dating...More

Compared with some of the other castles in Portugal, this was a smaller one, but still worth the visit. Outside you can also view the old graneries and not so far away, you can also visit a dam (barragem do Lindoso).

Right in the centre of the village you find the massive Lindoso Castle. If a castle and a free walk around it (and between the main walls) wasn't enough you have the view over the dam and the Espigueiros. A huge group of very old...More

OK, the surrounding area is really great, and the castle is actually not bad, but they could do something to attract more visitors, especially those who are not fluent in Portuguese. The castle is small, but the 1€50 entrance fee can't buy you a coffee...More

Castel Lindoso is one attraction in the lindoso Park. ITs the peak point from which you can see the lake and damn bellow. Astounding.
