Really interesting ruin to potter around with few others the twice we visited. It's an enormous site and there is loads to investigate with few areas that are restricted. The information boards are somewhat limited and we would happily have paid for a guidebook. No...More

Was looking forward to visiting the Kastro. It does have some amazing views of the area once you've tackled the climb up the hill, it is certainly worth the effort. Unfortunately the venue has been left to ruin which is a real shame I would...More

Built by Byzantines who fortified this ancient acropolis, the castle of Myrina had many tenants. Byzantines, Venetians, Genoese, Turks. It's strategical place made it too hot to pass by. It is not accidental that is the largest castle in the Aegean sea! More than that...More

This castle is in the port of Myrina. It overseas all of Myrina. The views are spectacular and it looks awesome at night. To get to it is a nice walk uphill. Would definitely recommend if anyone is visiting Limnos.

The castle in Myrina is a great place to explore. There is no entry fee, and due to its height on the hill, it's very quiet. It's recently been tidied up since my first visit with paths cleared and made safer and the addition of...More

The castle views from the top are sensational with wide view of the marina. And the bay to the west and is almost like looking from an aeroplane down onto the island and seeing the view with deep blue sea is in the distance the...More
