We were part of a group with Gate1 travel and this was a stop on the way to Otavalo which is nearby. Access to the fall is through a native hamlet with much history and then we followed well maintained and clean cobble stone path...More
The Peguche waterfall is walking distance or a very inexpensive taxi ride from Otavalo, yet one feels truly outside of town. It’s simply beautiful and tranquil, with the very pleasant aroma of eucalyptus permeating throughout. I recommend going during the week when there are fewer...More
This is a nice waterfall in Otavalo. The walk is nice and short so it is fairly easy to access the waterfall. We visited on a Sunday so there were alot of locals there. Certainly a nice place to take the family.
This is a nice waterfall but it is nothing very dramatic or unusual. It seems geared to locals and does provide them with a fine campground, picnic area, and swimming hole. You can hike up on the side of the falls to overlooks on either...More

You could get a taxi, it would probably cost you $5.00. Walking is far an the bus would leave you in the road where you would still need to walk. Either way, the route is from the market towards the Panamericana road via Ibarra (North), you pass the circle and then two blocks to the right and then straight until you teach the railroad, then make a left until you find the parking space for the Peguche waterfall, by car about 8 minutes, by foot maybe 45 minutes. There is no entrance fee but the community will ask you for a dontation. There are crafts for sale too. Enjoy
