Peguche is a nice place near Otavalo. The waterfall is wonderful and it was not too crowded. You can walk on different paths and could have lunch as well.

Okay it's not the largest or greatest waterfall that you will ever see but when on a day trip from Quito it is a pleasant addition. It's about a 30m drop followed by smaller cascades. You get a short 10 minute walk to stretch your...More

This was an easy walk. I did not go all of the way around the falls but my daughter did and found it enjoyable. Bring a change of clothes - you will get wet and its chilly!

The falls are ok. Easy nice trail. The small collection of buildings at the start of the trail are very cool. Our guide told us the 2nd arch are the remnants of a 17th century building were the locals were made to weave for the...More

After visiting the waterfalls we spent a very enjoyable hour in a nearby small town watching and learning from an 84 year old back strap weaver and his family. Town was Agato, Beautiful tapestries.

The sacred waterfall of Peguche is a must visit. It does get crowded so go early to avoid the pushing and shoving to get that perfect photo!

The magic of this place lies in its fantastic atmosphere. It is free, so the atmosphere is not spoiled by business interests.

You could get a taxi, it would probably cost you $5.00. Walking is far an the bus would leave you in the road where you would still need to walk. Either way, the route is from the market towards the Panamericana road via... More
