Fabulous town with the most Romanesque churches in Europe, well worth a visit. The history is fascinating & the buildings are beautiful, definitely worth stopping off at & maybe staying overnight. We are staying at the Parador which is very central

I am a fan of Byzantine, Romanesque and Gothic architecture and Zamora is truly a remarkable center viewing some of the best. I believe there are over 20 Romanesque churches alone, and many other structures that date from the same period. Just wandering the narrow...More

We always love returning to Zamora. The River, the Storks, the Roman Bridge, The Castle, Cathedral, arches, streets & plazas. It's an atmospheric city & somehow there's a sense of peace & tranquillity. We love the cold in winter & the older senoras in their...More

Zamora at wintertime was cold, but people were warm and nice. Having siesta could make sense in summer time, but in the heart of winter less so. Nights are so windy, rainy and cold that walking to see sight seeing locations was not easy.

Zamora is a small quiet nice city in Spain. It is covered by romanic buildings that make walking through it a pleasure. Local wines (i.e. Toro) and cheese (i.e. Fuentesaúco) are intense, complex and delicious. A good place to relax and recover.

We were advised to stay in Zamora by local people, so we did and did not regret it! Amazing town with fortress walls, surrounded by water, castles, old town and bars! Amazing stay, nice experience- be sure to visit Zamora by any chance!

This is an interesting town with quite a large historical centre but I felt it just hasn't quite made enough of an effort to capitalise on what it has to offer to tourists. Like so many old towns in Spain now it is blighted by...More
