This museum and archaeological site gives you a glimpse of a region that was one of the most important Greek city states in ancient times.

Visited by taxi from Chalkida - €40 return. Allow 2-3hours if you want to do the museum and walk up to Acropolis. Quiet interesting site. Poorly signed & strangely fenced. Trekked uphill following red panted footsteps or red tin signs. Towards top they fade away....More

We visited this place with a local guide and that made it very insteresting. We also walk to the top of the mountain next to the Gymnasium and Mosaik house and this was a good view and experience.

Several object on a hill slope. You get a good view of the history of Eretria. Fairly well preserved ruins with excavations still going on. No guidance available - free entry.

Excellent site right on the main road. this is a very historic site - it was the first major battle of the Persian Wars and is across the sea to the next major battle - Marathon.

this site and the ancient theatre next-door both are worth the visit. Whoever is intrested in ancient history will like it, but it's also very Greek, not very clean and not well protected.
