As a novice 4WD owner, we headed down to Pemberton for a weekend of camping in Drafty's Campsite. With a more experienced 4WDer accompanying us, we headed off to the D'Entrecasteaux National Park to see what my car could do. We headed into the park,...More

Put this in your itinerary. Strong gusty winds and expansive views of the Southern Ocean. Many photo opportunities. Don't forget that false grotto.

Amazing Cliffs overlooking the gorgeous sea. Preferably wear walking shoes as the rocks can be sharp.

In spring the wildflowers in this wild country were amazing. The views, spectacular - the wind... something else. Rug up.

Amazing scenery and changes so much from one lookout point to the next. We walked along the beach, drove a 4WD track to the river mouth and stopped at all the look outs - such a vast difference in the landscapes so make sure you...More

D'Entrecasteaux National Park is located on the coast south of Pemberton and encircles the small settlement of Windy Harbour. The most notable features of this park are the walking tracks that follow the coastline, giving spectacular views of the off-shore reefs being pounded by the...More

It will take you another 30 to 40 mns to reach there after Pemberton but it really worth it. Salmon Beach is just amazing, with fantastic views, and just no one there. Great white sand beach surrounded by cliffs - quite easy to access though....More

Stayed for 2 nights at Moore's Hut, which is just off Moore's Track and Chesapeake Road approximately 40kms from Northcliffe. Access to Moore's Hut is by 4WD only. This is bush camping though there is one long-drop toilet which (for a long-drop) was well maintained...More

It's very worthwhile to drive the 30 km from Northcliff to Point d'Entrecasteaux (sealed roads). The views are stunning. However, be aware of wheather changes. In just 2 minutes time the wheather changed from windy into heavy rain and gales. We were completely soaked and...More

One of my favorite national parks in the southwest of WA. Extensive marshland peppered with tall Karri Forests atop granite knolls and towering limestone cliffs over the crystal blue water of the southern ocean. It doesn't get much better. Most of the area is only...More
