There’s not a lot to be said about Ubirr that hasn’t been said before. It’s a stunningly beautiful place, the rock art is incredible, and it’s worth climbing to the top for the view. If you can make it to one of the ranger-guided walks,...More

Take water with you! The walk is not long but the heat sucks you dry. The rock paintings and view from the top are well worth the walk. Rest often in the shade.

Whilst in Kakadu this is another of the places you must visit. Easy access to most rock painting sites, good explanations of all sites.

We were in Ubirr one month ago enjoying aboriginal rock art. First people have accepted management of most national parks in Australia and use their traditional experiences and stories/fables to explain their world to the rest of the world. Both the culture and the landscape...More

A good series of tracks allowing access to various sites. The rock art is fascinating and covers several thousands of years of history. The climb to the lookout can be challenging in the heat and, as others have said, a stout pair of shoes is...More

We were not expecting such good and diverse rock art and arguably the best view of the NT. You have to be a bit lucky to visit in between big groups to have a quiet and impressive experience. The overhangs were nothing short of spectacular.

We attended an 8.30am session with a ranger leading us around the amazing rock art. He to,d us all the history which made this a very positive and interesting experience. Toilets and car park were of good quality.

It is a relatively easy walk to the galleries although I would still recommend sturdy shoes as you do need to climb some rocky stairs. We visited the gallery around mid day which was really warm. Fortunately half of the walk was shaded by rocks...More

Despite finding ourselves for a time behind a family that included the loudest three year old on the planet, he screamed every word that came out of his mouth, this is a beautiful, tranquil part of the world. You can’t fail to be fascinated and...More

In terms of access to the site (all sealed roads), car parking, amenities, well directed paths, guided tours, scheduled talks, and overall rock art.. Ubirr ticked all boxes for me. The view from on top of the lookout overlooking Arnhem land was breathtaking. Travelling in...More

Hi Janine We rocked up and a ranger was talking at around 9am. I think there was a group in front of us as well. Talks appear to be regular as they are popular and informative. From the carpark there is one track in and... More
