We all loved this surprise of a stop between Oamaru and Dunedin. A beautiful beach with interesting boulders - ideal for family photos, and wet feet!

Well worth a visit to the Moeraki Boulders, they are pretty cool land formations and pretty amazing, easy walk from the carpark.

A bunch of curiously round domes of rock.. interesting formation of you are driving along and if it is on the way. Not worth the detour. There is a small fee to enter the beach. There is a gift shop and a cafe, too. Time...More

Not sure about the buses, but if you can rent a car for the day, that's definitely a good option for this attraction: easy drive, coastal views, be at your own pace.
