Fabulous natural phenomena ... marred by the number of tourists that this popular spot attracts. Would be wonderful to visit in the early morning light before the hoards arrive or at dusk after most have left and when the light must be spectacular. If I...More

Always wondered what was so special about these boulders and now I know. They are hard to believe until you see for yourself. Amazing creation of nature.

We had a lovely walk on the beach to see the boulders at Moeraki. These are unusual rocks and interesting to view. We were there not long after high tide and couldn't stand on them for a photo without getting wet.

We had a great visit to the Moeraki Rocks . First we went to the public parking area, where a sign stated that the trip to the Boulders would take 10 mi utes, we had been driving for a couple of hours and needed to...More

To paraphrase Michelin, this was not worth the visit. Not interesting to us. The round boulders are not worth seeing though the site is nice. Not a big deal at all.

The boulders were a wee walk away and possibly a little over rated but I still enjoyed the experience!

Beautifully spherical boulders along the beach. Makes for some interesting photos. Many people come to visit them, but you can also combine it with a beach visit if the weather is good, as further down the beach is much quieter. There is a cafe near...More

Bit of a steep but very short walk down a well maintained track to the beach and boulders. The young kids enjoyed themselves taking photos and climbing. The tide came in fast midday AMD more fun was had jumping in and running away from waves...More

You gotta see them even if the beach is a bit crowded, not excessively though. The boulders are quite amazing. Its $2 to use the track and carpark but they've put in some work so I'm happy to pay it. Nice cafe too.

Heard the raves about these natural rock formations on the beach. Followed the road signs and ended up in a huge car park chokka with cars and campervans. Then you have to navigate around the monstrosity of a cafe and gift shop before paying $2...More

Not sure about the buses, but if you can rent a car for the day, that's definitely a good option for this attraction: easy drive, coastal views, be at your own pace.

Yes there is - there is a 3 to 4 hour tour - check out awesometours website in New Zealand and look at tours, then day-tours. Had to put it like this because Tripadvisor will not allow HTML or website links in answers. Hope... More
