Ask Kaikoura Whale Watchers- they are a very well organised company, with very friendly and professional staff. If travel and / or sea sickness are issues- be prepared. The wrist bands work well.

Any time is fine. And always good to have a option. Albatros is a very nice Backpacker accommodation.
