It is massive but maintains the character, the heritage, the sense of Wealth of the Gold Rush. We met a Visitor travelling up from Melbourne. All was easy. Worth a visit here.

Great please to see while in Ballarat. As are all the wonderful buildings in this town. Just sitting watching the trains on the old station is a delight

We came here by train but it wasn't until we came back on a walking tour that we got more information about the station. It is one of only about 3 covered stations left in Australia as most others were "modernised" at some point. A...More

I'm pretty sure I heard in the news once that there was an upgrade coming for the train station. I feel like It could so with some simple modern features. But the staff are friendly and the trains run on time, so really can't complain.

This is where we ended our Australian adventure by catching the airport shuttle bus to Melbourne...but not before we had studied the architecture and gazed in awe at the ornate features. It's worth a moment or two here...

A great place to visit either by car or train. Make sure you look to see a train coming from the bridge between platforms.

We took a walking tour with Andrew of Ballarat Heritage Tours and this was one of the stops along the way. He does a very informative tour of downtown with hints of other activities in which to participate. Highly recommend him.

Stands tall at the northern end of Lydiard Street. Dating back to the late 1800s this grand historic building can easily be incorporated inrto exploration of the area, Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.
