This place is like a jewel box; the one that you've just found in the back of an old cupboard. Treasure after Australian art treasure; a joy to the heart. You just can't not visit!!

Yes, it's a stunning collection, isn't it Terry, and not what you would expect to find in a regional gallery. Come again - the display of the collection changes quite regularly, as well as the temporary exhibitions. Peter

For a free display, there are so many great Australian works or art. So much to see and do at the gallery. There are some paid exhibitions to see as well. Go and see whilst in Ballarat.

We visited during the BOAA and were not disappointed. Some fabulous and varied installations here. The cafe is great too. Allow a good hour or so to really take everything in. Staff were very helpful and there is a cloak room available.
