It is relatively bare hill just south of Coolangatta and as you approach Kirra and it has remained bare free of high rise and contains a lookout which gives a great view of the beaches around.

There are great views of the coastline from this lookout, from Coolangatta right up to Surfers Paradise. It's well worth the walk up the steep hill to the sheltered lookout.

My sister in law and I actually walked up there from Coolangatta. Was a great view. Had some shelters to sit under. That monument of the Eagle ( I think thats what is was as it was quite rusty ) really looks great.

The climb to the lookout is well worth the effort especially at different times of the day. Driving to it is easier but parking can be a problem if there are people having a BBQ

Definitely worth the steep climb to get to the viewing platform atop Kirra hill - enjoy the amazing views from the top and then walk back down and walk along to Kirra beach for a cool drink or swim in the water.
