We went to see the albatrosses on a very blustery day. There were 2 nests occupied and we had very good views of the royal albatrosses, from the observatory, from the car park, and from a cruise we took afterwards. An excellent information centre, shop...More

The Otago Penninsula is a scenic spur into the ocean. Penguin place sits at the end and Larnach Castle is 1/2 way down. Seals are viewable. The kiwis are upgrading the roads in a couple pleases causing an outage on highcliff and gravel one way...More

As an ex-pat Mosgiel boy, I've had little to do with the peninsula so when we decided to go back to NZ for a holiday, we opted to stay out here for awhile, and were not disappointed, even though the weather was, in fact, a...More

This area is simply wonderful. The landscapes are incredible and so is the fauna. The roads are quite narrow so I would recommend to book a tour instead of going on your own.

Spent a couple of hours meandering up Otago Peninsula unfortunately the weather wasn’t great which Jeeves the views a little but at least the roads were quiet. A bit of roadworks slowed things down a little near Portobello with some very uneven temporary surfaces. Pleasant...More

This is very difficult to answer as each trip/experience is very different and all are excellent. You see things from the Monarch that you don't see from the land and vice versa. If you have time and can afford it, I would... More

One day is enough in Dunedin we only stayed on route to Christchurch. The penguins only come ashore in the evening and I think you have to do the tour to see them.
