While entry to the museum is free, entry to the Tūhura Science Centre is at a fee ($15 for adults and $10 for kids 3 and over) but well worth it! It includes entry to the tropical butterfly enclosure where the kids can watch newly...More

Went for the science room & butterflies, cost $45 for a family of 4, spent hours and could have spent more hours. The science room (which had different displays to last time we visited) is fantastic. We also love visiting the butterflies, but make sure...More

Visited here for a couple of hours as it was around the corner from our motel, but you could stay all day. Great planetarium and discovery zone, but the butterfly garden is the highlight.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review Steve, we think the Tropical Forest is pretty amazing - anywhere in Dunedin that's 28 degrees year round is pretty amazing!

This museum has a great nature section with models of now extinct animals from New Zealand. There are also exhibits of Maori culture, as well as cultures of the many Polynesian islands. We missed the guided tour, but recommend allowing 1-2 hours for your visit.More

This is an exciting exhibition with curious items that would be unlikely to be in other exhibitions. I will be visiting it again. I am regular visitor to the museum for new and old exhibitions, lectures and functions. Can't rate it highly enough.

A trip to Dunedin with kids is not complete without a visit to Tuhura at the Otago Museum. You need to pay for entry to this part of the museum but its totally worth it, with heaps of interactive displays and the amazing butterfly rainforest....More
