Really enjoyed a tour of this magnificent house - the restoration is excellent. John our guide was very informative with the history of the Deans. Well worth a visit if you like old houses and antique belongings.

We thoroughly enjoyed a well informed guided tour through the house (thanks Marina) conducted in the chronological order of its construction. Although partly rebuilt following the quake in 2011, the house has been restored and refurbished with period furniture from the times to make it...More

Riccarton Bush is the only podocarp forest remaining in Christchurch. It is totally enclosed by a fence to keep rodents and cats out of the garden. There are dense stands of Kahikatea trees up to 600-years-old.
