Great coastal walk/ride. Easy but if you go all the way from port to Bell Block beach and back it's 18km. Have a coffee and meal at The Batch when you get back.

The best in New Zealand! If you love the fresh salt air you'll be in heaven when you walk this walkway. Ever since it was first built it just keeps getting better and better! Not to be missed whatever the weather!

I walked from wind want down to the port area around 6km return. Several places to eat or get a coffee at the port area. Some closed in winter but gusto was open. Keep to the left as many cycles and skaters.

There is no bad time to walk down this walkway but we happen to go at sunset. It was just stunning with the orange glow to the north/west. You dont need to be fit or particulary able to enjoy this lovely walk.
