We went to Sylvia Park and did some Christmas shopping, Sylvia Park is based in Mt Wellington, and is the largest shopping centre in Auckland. You can see most popular brands here. There is one multicultural food court and one cinema.

This shopping centre has a big variety from clothing stores,electronics,books,cinema and cafe or food court dining.It is well presented ,easy to navigate and has plenty of parking.There are wonderful seating areas for a rest between shopping and it is bright and airy.

Very easy. Have done it by train many times. The train station is adjacent to the shopping centre and called Sylvia Park. I don't know which direction you will be coming from, but if you look at the website at.govt.nz you can find a journey planner.
Yes you can get a bus from the city but suggest you get a train instead from Britamart (in the city at the end of Queen street at the sea end) as there is a train station at the shopping centre. Would be about 20 min max.
