Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.

Good church and preaching.
Nice music .
The pastors were great except for pastor Lou who was boring .
He needs to connect more to the audience and be better prepared when preaching .

I visited this church last evening for a particular event. I found it very welcoming with a large auditorium.

Accidentally passed by this church when I walked around CBD, it has English and other Asian language service such as Chinese. Compared to others in the city, it is just an average building. Tip: Do not need to make a specific visit to the church. Spend no more than 30 minutes as you shop and eat around Lonsdale.

CrossCulture is in a central city location and belongs to the Churches of Christ denomination. As the name suggests, it welcomes people from a variety of cultures and traditions. It is conveniently located beside Melbourne Central shopping centre and close to eateries, buses, trams and a railway station. The style of Christianity promoted is Protestant, evangelical, Bible-based. Services are oriented to young congregations and include on-stage musicians and a lot of singing, with upbeat lyrics and graphics. The church is a traditional 19th-century building outside. Inside it has been converted to provide a modern auditorium-style space for services and a traditional hall for communal meals. Many church members are of Chinese cultural and language background and are international students studying in the area or are former students now working in professional capacities in Melbourne. Conversation classes are offered on Thursdays and Saturday mornings for people from non-English backgrounds.
