Amazing number of restaurants offering predominantly Italian Food. Have been visiting Lygon Street, for over 40 years and have always felt safe to park - walk - dine etc.

A few good places to eat and get coffee. But many are not that great worth doing some research. Some good places for ice cream. .

It is hard to imagine a place with a greater selection of places to eat or buy food for later. Restaurants and bakeries and sweet and chocolate shops make the choice difficult but rewarding. You will need to visit more than once to sample the...More

I always go to Lygon st by tram from the Mall, and go straight to Readings - both their adult and children's shops. They have quirky things and a range you won't get anywhere else and the man who helped me in the adult book...More

I have been visiting Lygon St for more than 40 years. It still retains many of a quirks and atmosphere of the 1960's with its Italian restaurants but it has definitely gone up-market. Offers good quality food and lots of street-side dining (even in winter...More

Lygon Street
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated
over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the
place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to
the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who
started their day with a local espresso. They are
gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this
Little Italy which has something for everyone.
