Good urban bike ciruit; Collingwood Children's Farm is on the way for a stop off ; very picturesque when the trail runs alongside the yarra.
I've read other reviews where the signage isn't clear in parts and can only agree; don't let that put you...More
Today's walk took me from the O'Connell Reserve on Bridge Road, past Victoria Street and around to Victoria Gardens and the Yarra foot bridge. The path was in great condition, clean and smooth, and the tree cover made it shaded, which was good given the...More
We went on a Sunday afternoon for a family bike ride starting in Kensington. Pretty clear navigation, good roads and was surprised when we ended up in the docklands so quickly. Here's a tip: go on a Sunday and you might see the Docklands Sunday...More
Its a well defined sealed path which lets you see a fair bit of Melbourne in a relaxes way while getting a bit if excercise. For tourists take a day (on a bike) & get off the trail at various spots like North Fitzroy, The...More
It's a pleasant ride or stroll along a well-defined pedestrian/cyclist path. It's great for locals to enjoy a stress-free outing. However, I wouldn't recommend overseas travellers who have a tight schedule or who can find similar trails at home.
On a sunny day there is no better way to see the sights of Melbourne!
The section of the trail that we love and frequently use starts from the centre of Melbourne, on the southern bank of the Yarra River, near Flinders Street bridge where...More
The Capital City Trail is a dual-use cycle and pedestrian trail. Getting around it would be an awfully long walk, so most people prefer to cycle. The Yarra Bend park is a good place to start. The Capital City Trail also connects to other trails,...More
I’ve cycled this circular trail in both directions and multiple times but you can run it or walk it. The path is fairly clearly marked, where it isn’t either follow the river or follow others! Two lanes (keep-left) are marked on much of the pavement...More
This is a beautiful trail that winds its way around the outskirts of Melbourne. It follows the Yarra River in parts and there are also parts that are quite industrial and are covered by motorways overhead. I did not have time to complete the full...More
We did this cycle trail a few years back and really enjoyed it so thought we would try it again. Like the true pioneers we are we decided to do it clockwise this time.
Big mistake, as the signage is close to non-existent. Last time...More

You can pickup a map from Rentabike Federation Square, thats where I started, on the Yarra River and rode up river following the map, I also another time rode down river branching off guided by the map. it's very hard to keep on the trail, so frequently check your position. Their map has pointers to help you stay on the trail. It's a good ride have fun. You could start anywhere on the trail but I think the Rentabike area is good.
