A beautiful building and one I have often wanted to visit. Very disappointed to find that large-print guides are not provided for those with vision difficulties. After taking some photographs of captions/storyboards on my iPad mini and enlarging them so I could read the text...More

Our grandchildren learnt a lot of our history from this visit and were amazed to see the small area the caretaker and his family lived in. It is nice to see a grand old building being used daily and open to visitors.

They have many articles of interest and the gold on display was also very informative. You need about half a day to "read and adsorb" all the information - so recommend a visit to the nearby "The Hotel Windsor' for a refreshing afternoon tea thereafter.

Very interesting insight into the gold Rush and the life of the diggers. Very detailed information about the city in previous years and many great visuals. The gold was very shiny.

Firstly, it is FOC. So that is already a plus point right? There are guides welcoming you at the entrance, who will give you a rough introduction to the place. The exhibitions are "okay"; not exceptionally great, but also not frighteningly disappointing. But I would...More
