When I first came to Melbourne Chapel Street was filled with fabulous little boutiques and shops where new and established designers could be found. Now it's like shopping in the local Westfield - everything is retail chain and boring. Very disappointed - lots of 'for...More

Chapel Street was disappointing. I had hoped to find many interesting shops with artwork, rare souvenirs (not the mass-produced stuff), etc., but the majority of them were closed even by mid-morning. The area also has a rough feeling to it, as though it has not...More

Chapel Street Melbourne is one of the greatest places in Australia to shop, eat and enjoy a chilled glass of vino with friends - Try it, you will enjoy it!

A street that has gone downhill. No car parking and lots of empty shops. So much potential but sadly wasted.

I heard that the shopping was good on Chapel Rd but I didn’t find this good at all. Half the shops were empty and those that were opened were very over priced. Cafes were very hit and miss as well, nothing appealing at all. The...More

It is a nice street with lots of different bars and restaurants but wouldn't go out of my way for any of the restaurants I have been to here. I really enjoy going to the Prahran Market near by though.

We lived not far away, so we ended up here. It is debatable whether to come here from distant areas. It's just a street with lots of boutiques, small shops and cafes. They say it's the best coffee in Melbourne. It's difficult to verify. Prahran...More

Short trip from St Kilda, this street has many places to eat and has some good pubs for the nightlife. Not a place for shopping - better to go to Chad stone or to Emporium.

Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s
paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and
emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with
specialty stores selling just about everything. The
famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and
vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're
in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the
northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor
