If you like getting sun-burnt (basically FRIED in direct sun), then this is a great place to go. Australian Open should be held in an appropriate month, perhaps April? NOT MID SUMMER!!!!

Nice stadiums used for the Australian grand slam. Apparently going to get a revamp in the next few years. If you like tennis this is a must visit. Comfortable walk from city centre. Melbourne City is very small and very walkable.

Fantastic spot to view all there is to see at the tennis. All the great players and the new up and coming ones are there. Plenty to see and do all through the area. It is just a short walk to the city of Melbourne...More

Seats are comfortable and a good view of the stage. Food and beverage quite pricey and not all of it is good/worth the cost. Chips at one of the outlets had a slightly sweet coating. Odd.

Well, I have been to Rod Laver many times for concerts and this one was by far the worst time EVER! So unprepared for a big crowd which I find surprising as they deal with big crowds all the time but the slushie machine broke!...More

I don't believe there is free wireless. I didn't see any connections. Have you seen the prices of the food. I doubt it.

We stayed in the CBD. As others have mentioned, there is very good connectovity by tram to the Rod laver Arena, so it was not a problem. Tram transport within CBD is free :)
