If you want to meet some locals, then visit at dusk and be amazed by the number of wallabies and their babies. The views are not bad either.

A quick drive from town, up a suburban mount Nelson, you find the lookout surrounding by now bushland. Unfortunately the trees are quite tall and have obstructed the full views of the city!

Did the trike ride with Trike Adventures up to Mount Nelson. Fortunately it was a nice clear day and the views were amazing. Would recommend this visit to soak up a bit of Tassie culture

Been in Tassie for 24 years and why didn't I go up here before? Finally went and had a great lunch, really good food, great hospitality and service in the cafe. Interesting history at the old signal station.
