The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens are maintained really well. You can park, cycle or walk there. Even for cruise ship passengers it’s worth the visit to experience the tranquility as talked about in other reviews. You can then easily walk back to town on the...More

I visied the Botanical Gardens everyday when I stayed in Hobart whilst my partner was in RHH. The walk to and around the outside of the gardens is a great fitness walk whilst inside the gardens is just beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. I love the...More

We needed more time. There is so much to see and our quick visit during a city tour hardly scratched the surface. Sadly, we only made it to the Japanese garden and the sub-antarctic display. Another couple of hours probably would have helped. Give yourself...More

With a young family, out with friends or older people just wanting to investigate, the Royal Tasmanian Gardens are a wonderful place to visit. We had a lovely lunch, walked around the gardens and enjoyed the beautiful weather. A place to visit in Hobart.

The new lily pond garden is spectacular - reminiscent of Monet’s garden with its little bridge. The Japanese garden is a lovely tranquil spot and the lillies in the conservatory are beautiful.

It doesn't have too many things to do there, but is a nice walk in the nature. The japanese garden inside it is very cute.

Great place for an interesting stroll through well laid out gardens. Easily spent an hour wondering around various environments. Worth a visit

We had a quick visit only, but I loved the lily pond (cute little ducklings paddling around and walking on the lilys) and the tropical house. It is quite hilly so be warned

We had a few hours to spare before our flight home so we opted to visit the gardens. They are exceptional. Probably the best botanic gardens I’ve been to. So many different displays and a lot of history. Entry is by gold coin donation which...More

Hi, depending on the weather. Hobart is coming on to winter time, the days can be extremely cold with the wind factor. The gardens are lovely, but dress warmly, and good comfortable walking shoes. The cafe there has lovely... More
