We didn’t get a guided tour and the host wasn’t overly welcoming. We came early in the morning 10ish and were getting the kids out of the car, the host got in their car and drove off.. didn’t say anything to us. We didn’t know this till coming back later and realizing it was that same person…
The house was nice to look through! wish we got to have someone tells us some information about Faye, we got a little information at paying, ( Kids are free). We will try find more info about Faye.
We also didn’t know about the mine till we got back to camp.

Very enjoyable tour of a time capsule of an underground home. Faye no longer lives here but it is a great f place to visit to see a house in Coober pedy. Very different and informative. The mine was also great. Pets welcome.

Myself and 2 kids 15 and 7 found this absolutely fantastic and are in awe of FAYE! The home is kept exactly as it was when Faye owned and lived inside. Her strength, determination and foresight has made Coober Pedy the place it is today. Great tour with a knowledgeable and engaging host, finishing off with a tour of Faye’s mine and sn opportunity to collect some podge. Highly recommend!

Such a great experience & the guide was a wealth of knowledge & had personal experience of knowing Faye & this made the whole experience so much more. A fascinating insight into Coober Pedy and it’s people in a bygone era. Really worthwhile activity.

Was interesting to see .the three ladies that built the house must have been amazing to have dug out the underground house by hand

The guide was exceptional and knew Faye personally.
Really interesting facts on how the home came to be and Faye herself was a bit of a legend around Cooper Pedy, was well respected.
The fact that she made her millions here out in the never never is another story.
We really enjoyed this tour.

Amazing that this house was built by a woman with her bare hands. The guide was excellent and had some very interesting stories about Faye. If only the walls could talk.

This tour was unreal! What an amazing lady Faye was. Her home and mine gave us a true indication of typical life in Coober Pedy but with some real surprises. Tour guide was full of local knowledge, she had known Faye personal which really added to the experience. We all lived it, including my children aged 10 and 8.

Must do in Cooper pedy. Faye was an amazing woman and what she built is fantastic. You get to see her whole house she dug and built and then one of her mines beneath the house

We met lovely Kelly who was our tour guide for Fay's House. Kelly was welcoming and friendly and super informative about the history of the house and Fay's personal story. She also shared many interesting stories about the history of the town and how mining developed over the years. The primarly hand dug out is very impressive, cosy and interesting. Absolutely worth a visit and make sure to say Hi to Kelly 😊👍
