Lots of artefacts to view and some stunning models to admire in this fairly small museum. Interesting stories being told, some of which are quite sad really. Worth the trip and the small entry fee.

Friendly, compact museum that is full of a variety of exhibits and displays. The topics cover a variety of scenarios and timeframes - war times, shipwrecks, pearl divers and models too. The overall 'shape' of the museum is nautical too. Highly recommend for those who...More

I visited this with my teenage daughter who is thinking of joining the Navy after finishing high school. It's only small and so takes no more than 30-40 minutes to go through all the exhibits unless you decide to read every last information board. I...More

Friendly helpful staff very good and well explained exhibits. Easy to walk around and everything clearly labelled. All the interesting things you need to know about the local history of Townsville's water front and transport seems to be here. Great range of models on display.

I found this visit OK but not spectacular. There are lots of model ships and plenty of posters but not so many historical artifacts. Still, worth a look.

A most interesting and well-done museum of Townsville's maritime history, covering all eras and tragedies.

Thoroughly enjoyed spending a cloudy afternoon learning about Townsville's maritime history. Definitely worth the entry fee. The volunteers were friendly and really knowledgeable and passionate about the building and the information within.
