This was one of the best tour combinations I have experienced: a ferry river trip to the Koala Sanctuary with hours to explore the grounds before riding the ferry back to Brisbane. In addition to the koalas, there were loads of kangaroos, and they are...More

Nice relaxed river cruise with fun destination.. Time allowed at sanctuary was perfect. Plenty of koalas up close in the trees and feeding. I didn't have a big desire to hold a Koala until I did. A unique experience and they are cute! Enjoyed the...More

Mirimar cruises runs river boat of a good size between Brisbane and Koala Sanctuary. The trip, about an hour long on the Brisbane river is quite pleasant with refreshments. The captain gives a commentary on the buildings and the people who lived on either side...More

Thoroughly enjoyed our day out on the river followed by time at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Only disappointment was the crazy line to get to touch a koala. I'd recommedn not wasting the time to do this as it eats into your time to see...More

Thanks for your feedback and yes, the line up for Koala Holding can be a little crazy. They always have a ranger with a Koala that you can approach at any time to have a pat and get a photo (just not hold). This can...More

We had a great time on the river cruise learning a lot about the history of Brisbane. The crew were very attentive and the captain even let me daughter steer the ship for a moment. This is something she will remember forever. Thanks for a...More

Took the Miramar boat to Lone Pine Sancuary. It was not easy to find the pier from which it left. I suggest you take the longer boat ride to the Sancuary, but the express back. No need to see the same thing twice. The sanctuary...More

Yes, we are having a heat wave, and it is actually hotter now in Brisbane then we have in summer. Lone Pine are working hard to ensure the Koala holding experience is not too long, and changes are being made to assist in this regard....More

Very nice half day trip. River cruise was slow but not too long. Sanctuary is compact, easy to walk through and very well organized.

As a river cruise it was fine, educational, with friendly staff, and the ham/cheddar hot sandwich was good. As a way to get to the koala sanctuary and hold a koala it was terrible. The boat leaves too late and returns too early to actually...More

If you would like to hold a Koala and have a picture taken it is extra and paid direct to the sanctuary when you visit. The cost (at the time of writing this message) ranges from AUD$20 - $24 with various packages available.
