We stayed there for a whole afternoon with our six-year-old daughter. We ended up forgetting to visit the Royal Botanic Garden (within a stone's throw). Don't miss the gallery at Lower Level 2 where kids can enjoy artworks creation themselves.

Spend your time in the nearby gardens unless the weather is bad for this was a major disappointment.

I have been going for the last 45 years. Not as often as I like, but each time it is a great experience. The building alone is !! and when you step inside another world comes alive. I think it's time to go and see...More

We only went to see the Russell exhibition, which was very good, but we also had lunch there - my husband had a rather meagre toasted sandwich, but I had an excellent anti-oxidant salad.

The AGNSW is in a beautiful setting near the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney. The collections contain fine examples of Australian and European paintings, in addition to indigenous art.

We did a 1 hour guided tour of John Russell paintings and Masters of Modern Art from the hermitage that started just a few days before our visit. Quite lucky to see all those great paintings.

We visited the NSW Gallery recently to see the Modern Masters of the Hermitage. The Gallery is amazing architecturally, and the building is worth seeing for its own sake. The exhibition we saw was curated very well. The Gallery cafe was really pleasant, and has...More

The museum has multiple exhibits, many of them with free admission. I went for the aboriginal art which I enjoyed immensely. There is a bit of everything, even for the kids. The cafes looked busy as was the gift shop. You can spend an hour...More

Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with
energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise
buildings and after-work drink places, high-end
shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners
frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a
dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit
the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle,
reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens
