This is a good work out for the first few kilometres. Then you will see the chain to help you rock hop / climb this is where gloves will save you hands from some wear and tear.
A nice walk that is certainly a work...More
Went there few hours before sunset, absolutely stunning. It was suggested by a local boat tour guy, and he said he would be surprised if we don't see whales (currently whale season). Mt. Warning had an extremely wide multi angles view of the coastline. We...More
This was a challenge but worth every minute. We started the walk / climb to the top at around 4.30am and reached the top at 6.30am and it was well worth the effort of walking in the dark as the sunrise at the top was...More
Many people climb mount warning in the dark to catch the sunrise . Unfortunately by the time we got to the rock climb ( scramble ) just before the summit the sun had come up . We left the bottom at 5.20am . I would...More

The hike up Mount Warning is a definite must for anyone who likes bushwalks or sunrises.
It's approximately a 8.8 km round trip, taking between 2.5 - 5 hours depending on your fitness and pace.

A Definite walk.

The walk down is harder and we certainly felt it in our calves next morning.
Recommend going down chain area backwards when coming down.
Decided to head down early with my son in an attempt to see the sunrise from the top of the mountain. We drove down the highway from Coolngatta, then through Murwillimbah for the short country drive to the turn off to Mt Warning. As we...More
Personally I don't think a tour is needed, the path is pretty clear cut. Just remember to pack a bag with some water and food, plus if you're going for the sunrise, a flash light and a jumper.
Happy hiking! :)
