I was quite impressed with the Captain Cook Memorial. There was lots of information. In the middle of the monument there was a huge globe and a water jet. Captain Cook was famous in Australia. He came to Australia in 1769 and even stopped at...More

This sculpture displays the voyages of Captain James Cook. The journeys are marked out and clearly indicate what an amazing accomplishment it was in the days that Captain Cook sailed around the world. The globe is located on Lake Burley Griffin at Regatta Point. The...More

A rather unspectacular sculpture of the globe and cooks journey , in my opinion reminds me we are in a sculpture dominated city with the globe parked up by the lake. However the water jet is relaxing to look at and creates a centre piece...More

Greta place to park and see the Capt Cook water jet up close. Well worth a detour to go and have a look.

This globe shows us how Captain Cook made his voyage until he found Australia and New Zealand some two hundreds years ago, interesting. Good historical knowledge not only for adults but specifically for children. Do your visit as a part of the longer leisure walks,...More

This sculpture clearly shows the extent of James Cook's voyages and what an amazing feat it was for the time. A beautiful location right on the lakefront, best place to view the fountain.

It is nice for children to be able to have hands on experiences with our history. It is in a lovely location and nice spot to rest and look at our iconic buildings across the lake

Another interesting fact highlighted by a clever metal structure. There were many structures around Canberra and this one was factual and looked great.
