This little free gem is a few minutes walk from the Convention centre, and worth a visit, even if you never heard of Sidney Nolan . It is climate controlled , quiet, peaceful and they even serve coffee! It has nice displays of the construction...More

In addition to probably the best public amenities in Canberra, the new(?) cafe lady is excellent, thoughtful and kind.

Focus of museum is on Canberra's development as a city. There is a collection of Sidney Nolan paintings framed in reflective class which made it difficult to photograph. Would have been better to have paintings in non reflective glass.

There are a lot of interesting cultural art to admire together with audio visuals. It is advisable to spend a couple of hours in the museum that has 5 art galleries. For aboriginal art lovers and admirers this is a treasure trove.

Not bad for ducking in when you’re in the area but I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way. My partner visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was very quiet, I would say there were perhaps 10 patrons altogether while we were there yet...More

We came for a cultural weekend and had a great time. Walked from city to the galleries and museum. The museum was in the city, free and well set out. Upstairs was closed but the three galleries downstairs had the history set out well. Audio...More
