We visited Canberra to attend two wonderful exhibitions, one of which concerned the Pre Raphaelites painters who revolutionised British painting. This exhibition was fabulous and very well presented. After attending it we also explored the National Gallery of Australia. A great day for both of...More

Visiting a major exhibition in Canberra is just so easy after being buffeted around at the major galleries in Melbourne and Sydney. While the Pre-Raphaelites exhibition was a blockbuster, by timing our visit to the late afternoon on a Tuesday we had the Gallery almost...More

Had to pleasure of visiting Canberra to see the Pre Raphaelite exhibition. Much better than I expected - as good as the Tate but way less people and congratulations to the staff who put it together. If you get the chance do yourself a favour...More

WOW! I’m so glad I made time for this on a recent work trip to Canberra. I purchased the audio tour (it came on a lanyard mounted iPod with headphones) and it was well worth the $7 extra. I learnt so much about the history...More

On visiting the gallery for the Love and Desire Pre-Raphelite exhibition I could not have been more impressed at the citation of not only this exhibit, but the entire gallery itself. It has such a diverse catalog of artworks and artists on show.

We took two hours. Earlier was better. But start of the day was very busy. Half an hour after opening. Do some reading before hand, it makes it even more interesting.
