What a rare treat! Another spectacular exhibition in the Capital topped off with a meander through the permanent collection. Will return again and again.

A very impressive place with a good layout. Special exhibitions well set out with good descriptions and easy to read. Staff helpful with directions and explanations when needed. Had lunch at the cafe which was value for money and a very pleasant place to eat....More

This is a great national collection largely brought together over the last 50 years or so. A very generously proportioned series of spaces, special exhibitions and the regular galleries, all reconfigured in the last few years. Not so big as to be overwhelming either. And...More

In Canberra for a weekend to relax with inlaws and kids. The staff are really knowledgeable as engaged with all patrons who enter. We were able to get really good photos with everything there and create memories for a life time. The kids loved seeing...More

Mindblowing virtual reality exhibition, and then got lost in art deco halls followed by Monet's lilies. So much more to see....

Spent most of a day wandering around NGA. An hour on Level 1 looking at Aboriginal Art, then brunch at the NGA cafe which has a selection of pastries, biscuits & baked items, sandwiches, wraps and a couple of salads. After some sustenance I went...More

I really like the National Gallery building. It’s well put together. They had an American modern masters exhibition on when we went. It’s well worth a look with the requisite Warhols and Lichtensteins to do the Pop Art thing. Pollock’s Blue Poles along with some...More

We took two hours. Earlier was better. But start of the day was very busy. Half an hour after opening. Do some reading before hand, it makes it even more interesting.

Often busier on Saturdays and with Floriade on, I would expect that it is more busy than usual
