Excellent displays and great ell from staff, parking was a bit difficult but not a huge problem, it's the sort of place you need to visit often when displays change

The NGA has a great selection of art. There are regular sections such as Indigenous, Asian, Colonial, Australian and Pop art that you can revisit and still be surprised to find new works. Explore the many staircases and ramps because the building can be a...More

This is a great place to check out prints of Australians. It is most pleasant and reveals facts about people you would not be aware of. Very interesting!

Wow.....there are some great pieces of art but compared to my last visit there was a lot of empty spaces that were in the process of being filled. Possibly the wrong timing. I would recommend this place to anyone to come and visit. There are...More

The National Gallery in Canberra is amazing. My favourite space is the Indigenous collection next to the downstairs entry and cloak room but there are many more fabulous spaces. A great place to spend a rainy day. The recent exhibition of diamonds, tiaras and more...More

Pretty good collection. You can enjoy even if you're not an art afficiando. Allow 3-4 hours. Signposting to various areas of the gallery seemed lacking, but descriptions of the artworks were detailed enough. The American Masters series very enjoyable and great to see some Warhol...More

It's free, there's parking at the door, and there's some great art in there. You don't need to make an event of it - drop in, browse and admire. (If they have a special exhibition then there's often a charge for that, but the rest...More

We took two hours. Earlier was better. But start of the day was very busy. Half an hour after opening. Do some reading before hand, it makes it even more interesting.
