We were there over Floriade and with some roads closed and parking full getting to the water was a bit of a challenge. Interesting exhibits and installations along the water- Contour 556. Pick up a map and info from the visitors center. Good picnic areas...More

You can’t miss it and it is central to the city. Even better if you cycle around it which is quite achievable on electric bikes that you can hire. Well signposted !

Beautiful man made lake, very serene and pretty. Great for a walk, rowing or dining at one of the restaurants. Have to add without it Canberra would be very boring.

Great walking paths around this large body of water; plenty of cafes at various points. There is a yacht club; a paddelsteamer or similar.

It great to cycle around the Lake with views of the High Court and National Library. It's also worth a trip to some of the lookouts : Mt Ainslie, Mt Pleasant, and Red Hill.

Lake Burley Griffin is a great place for a picnic or just a lovely stroll near the lake edge. Great free workout equipment within the park.

Kids did the whole loop around the parliamentary precinct but we just rode from the visitor's centre along to the Carillon. We also drove around the edge of the lake at various places like Scrivener Dam.

We often just go for a walk around Lake Burley Griffin. It takes about an hour and a half and is interesting any time time of the year.
