When looking into day trips from Bogota, this seemed like a great option. I booked a tour because I was concerned about transportation in getting there and back. The hike itself does not really need a guide, but it was worth it just to know...More

We loved the hike, but it is difficult to get there. You can take the bus and ask the driver to stop at Cascada La Chorrera, but theres a 3 mile dirt road you have to walk in order to get to the park, which...More

Amazing hike. Key problem if you don't have a rental car is how to get a ride home. A taxi or uber will give a ride there. We paid our Uber drive 2x the "ride there" price to say and give us a ride home...More

Must do if you are in Bogota, one hour away on bus, plenty of restaurans on the weekend and the cuban restaurant inside the park is very good open week days.

I’ll start off by saying that this trip did not go as planned, unfortunately. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful experience seeing rural chaochi, about an hour drive from the hostel in the Candelaria neighborhood of bogota. First, as has been mentioned in other posts, the...More

Just across the mountains from Bogotá, this is a gorgeous taste of rural Colombia. From the main road, you pass through a couple villages and reach a really nice private park -- with super friendly staff -- where you can purchase admission, have some Cuban...More

I can't understand why this waterfall is not as popular as it should be . Only 40 kmts away from Bogota, no trafdfic jams, beautiful landscape and friendly campesinos.

It was a clear day, so the rocks and scramble were not slippery. I went after the second day in Bogota and wasn't quite adjusted to the altitude, so I'd recommend going there once you're used to the 8000+ feet above sea level. It was...More

You have to walk at least for one hour to reach the waterfall. Very friendly people around. I highly recommend this place. You can thereafter travel to Choachi and relax in the thermal waters.
