I regularly visit Thornton for a quick stroll round the reservoir. It's an easy 2.5 mile walk on the flat, in winter there are a few boggy muddy patches but usually it's not too bad. The car park gets busy at peak times but it...More

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed your visit to Thornton reservoir. The flat paths around the site make it a great place for families to walk around in most weather conditions. I hope you come back to visit again soon.

We've walked round the reservoir many times now and have started to add on the footpaths that take you into the woods. Very cool and welcoming in this blistering heat!!

Although we have lived in Nottingham for 30 years we never knew about this pretty sheltered walk with picturesque Scotts pines. A flat walk with just a short climbe through Thornton churchyard to the dog friendly Reservoir Inn.

Enjoyed the 2.5 mile walk around the reservoir. The scenery is pleasant and the walk flat and dry. Conveniences are available at the anglers hut.
