This is a MUST DO on a visit to Cape Town. The owner, Mzu, is the real deal. So knowledgeable about the history and culture. He will open your eyes to so much. Oh, and he’s really fun and funny too. You will have a great time with him.

We chose Imzu as we wanted a local guide, linked with the people in the township, not being in a car like in a safari. And we were very happy with it!! We did it as a family of 4 with our boy (13) and girl (8): we will remember it all our life. We could very safely walk in the Langa township, meet people, really have a glimpse of their life, and the terrible conditions there are in. Mzu has a very good knowledge of the area, the History of the country and the township. He drove us in and around the huge Khayelitsha, and we ended in the bnb where his mum had made a meal for us. Mzu, despite a covid situation very tricky for his little business, is very fun, light hearted, full of energy, and very courageous to do this. He was very helpful in organising the tour. Thank you again Mzu and good luck for the future.

A tour that will show you a side of South Africa millions of people live everyday, and many other South Africans do not want to face. The company is run by Mzu, a very kind and hardworking man who looks after his employees like family, he is knowledgeable, fun, and an absolute pleasure to interact with. My tour was guided by Ox, who also did a fantastic job. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cape Town, foreigner or not! In addition, Mzu has written an excellent book about the townships of Cape Town, (dieses ist auch auf Deutsch erhältlich!) just let him know in advance of the tour, so he can bring copies for you to buy. An absolutely fantastic company to support.

If you wish to meet the people of Langa township, Capetown and feel the warmth and discover the truth about the reality of life in a township, there is no one better to do it with than Mzukisi Lembeni. He is a fine young man who has lived in the Langa township since he was a young boy. I can very highly recommend his tours with Mzu as your guide to open your mind and heart to how others live in townships in South Africa especially Capetown. As Mzu took me around his township I realised that the local adults and children highly respect and admire him. He is one of them but has broken out of the township cycle to set up his own tour company. His roots are still in Langa and we visited his youth bicycle centre in a shipping container to support and teach his township kids skills and give them hope and inspiration for their future. His aim is to buy another shipping container and set it up a a computer centre to teach the children computer skills. Although the township was in stark contrast to other living areas I’m used to, there was an air of happiness and hope for the future everywhere. If you dare to allow yourself to see how others live with so little in a township in Capetown, please do a township tour with Mzu Lembeni, ambassador par excellence for his township and people. After doing my tour with Mzu, I felt my mind and heart had been changed by the compassion and kindness of Mzu and the township people and kids. It is now my turn to respond in kind by writing a review on a Trip Advisor. Please do a township tour with Mzu. Your life will not be the same afterwards. As Mzu says himself, “I was born to touch and change people’s lives”. Mzu has touched me and changed my life.

I have always been curious to see the other side of living in South Africa. As a tourist, you can pay to see most of South African culture but I feel as though you're never exposed to life in townships. This has been a complete eye opener for me and my boyfriend. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, approachable and honest. He took us into two townships and gave us the opportunity to feel part of their community. Everybody was so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend booking a tour here. I love that they allow visitors to be so 'hands on'. We sampled some of the traditional homemade beer which was a highlight. After the tour we had the most delicious buffet cooked for us by Edna, who lives in an outstandingly clean and welcoming home. Edna and Mzu left us feeling relaxed and eager to return. If you want to experience the true and reality of South Africa, this is a worthwhile experience
