- desacadienserrantsHalifax, Canada56 contributionsMagical forestWe were spending a weekend on the south shore and were looking for something to do on a grey day. I found this place on an online search, and went in expecting your average garden centre with a few sculptures. Was I ever wrong! This place is an amazing combination of sculpture and nature. We spent over an hour walking through the beautifully maintained forest, never knowing what remarkable piece of art would be waiting around the corner. It's great for adults and children alike (just don't climb on the art), and it's also a great place to walk your dog. It's free, but you can leave a donation. We donated $20 and it was easily worth that. Can't wait to check it out again next summer!Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 June 2024
- travellingman1956Halifax, Canada22 contributionsA must seeWhere to start? This was truly a surprise. My wife had been here before, but had not told me anything other were were going to be looking at garden statues. Make sure your phone is fully charged as you will want to take plenty of photos. We were fortunate to meet the creator of all of this (it is very extensive, allow your self time to properly view it). He described himself as a landscaper, and a gardener, but I would describe him as a true artist, with a very creative mind, and the ability to express what is going through his mind. Totally blown away. This is a free attraction, with donations requested. I hope that you give a generous donation, so that we get to see more. What an imagination, truly magical.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 July 2024
- Lorna PToronto, Canada38 contributionsA Must-See place! This is the epitome of a hidden gem. No information about it in town, no signage on the road, no admission fee - donation requested - no staff around. Just find the garden centre and, lo and behold, there is a magical park behind it filled with amazing sculptures. Absolutely stunning and worth the trip to Liverpool/Brooklyn NS. I'm 64 with fibromyalgia and found the gardens easy to navigate and not too taxing physically. Children were running on the trails - acceptable as long as they stay off the complex but fragile sculptures. We gave $20 and spent an hour in the garden.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 July 2024

Storefront is basically a greenhouse. In the back though is a intriguing trail in the woods that exhibits concrete statues that the owner creates in the winter. He's been doing this for years and the walk was quite enjoyable. On our return we found out that we had only covered a portion. This isn't you typical tourist attraction, it's not marked with fancy signs but it does show the passion of an individuals hobby. Enjoy it.

We had heard of the statues, but did not expect the lovely park and walking trails...and so many beautiful and intricate statues! I had seen the dragons online, but was surprised at the variety of statues. Having done circus arts myself, I loved all the acrobats, with realistic musculature, hand grips, etc.
A hidden gem!! HIGHLY recommend!! And free admission (we made a donation).

I would strongly advice anyone visiting in this area of Nova Scotia to visit Cosby’s Concrete Creations. This is a garden centre which is enjoyable to visit for their many wonderful and beautiful plants. As a special bonus you can walk through the woods behind and explore numerous concrete mythical creatures. These are the creation of Ivan Higgins; a talented sculptor with a vivid imagination.

What a gem of a spot! We found out about this while planning a brief vaca to Shelbourn, and were totally blown away by it. A rare experience for art lovers and gardners alike. Totally unexpected and totally immersive. Worth more than one visit too, as it appears the gardens are being prepared for more. This is a must see.

Short and sweet: it is worthwhile to visit if you are in the area of Liverpool. Clearly, the owner has real artificial talent. My favorites were children running, jumping and doing somersaults. The artist looks like he is planning to keep creating and expanding his gardens! Of yeah... you can buy plants from them as well.

What a delightful gem. Peaceful path through numerous amazing concrete sculptures. Takes about 30 minutes to walk through the forest to enjoy the sculptures placed throughout. The artist owns the garden centre and if your lucky he's working inside and you may get a chance to chat.
