There is also very nice and old buildings around the location of the castle.
I have known Vallø castle all my life. The castle itself is not open to the public but you are allowed in the park for free. It is very beautiful and brings quiete and calm to the mind.

The castle operates as a residence these days, but the park is open for visitors. Quite a long walk from the city (8 km. 6,3 km from Kjoge Mini-By) so using a taxi is recommended. Good spot for snapping some photos.

Stopped here briefly, and walked the grounds, which is a beautifully cared-for park. Private residence, so cannot tour the castle itself. Still, the setting, including the drive to it, is near-idyllic.
