We made a short visit to this site while in Kufstein. It was walking distance to town. They have several things going on that we didn’t have time to do, but I think it’s worth checking in to.

It was fun to take the funicular up to the fortress as the views were great on the ride up. There were some nice exhibits in the fortress so for us it was worth the stop. We wandered around the fortress for about an hour...More

I recommend taking the stairs versus the lift. If your legs aren’t burning once you get to the top, you must be a triathlete! Great views, interesting history.

Most certainly a visit to Kufstein must include the fortress and all it's facilities, the mighty Kaiserturm, the worlds largest organ with hundreds of pipes, the museum, the deep well and the Josefsburg where many shows are staged. The fortress can be reached taking the stairs(you will feel like...More

More than 20 euros for 3 persons to see what? A small and bad exhibition, no heated rooms and nearly nothing explained in english. Use your money elsewhere.

I was there in December 2017 and it was a beautiful experience, pay attention that it will take you some time if you want to visit all, but it worth. I will definitely go there again.

There is an audio tour that you can download and do your own guided tour. It was a bit long in places for me, but then you can just skip to the next bit. I can't remember if they did tours led by a human guide or not. Sorry.
